new things!

We have been in Dayton now for about 2.5 months... It's been an adjustment since Philly , but it's so great being back in the midwest. Ryan's residency is going really well and he loves the program! He is working long hours but is getting to do what he loves! It's definitely all worth it!

As for me, I have been trying to figure out what I can do here in Dayton. I finally found a job! I'm so excited about this job because I know it will be something I enjoy and it's along the lines of what I have been trying to do ever since I graduated. I took a job with a company called Bella Baby Photography. It's a company that was started in Chicago and has been branching out in different cities across the U.S. I will be a contracted photographer with them. Their whole basis, is to revolutionize hospital, newborn baby photography. When I looked at their website and blog, I was excited to see how artistic the shots are they do! What they strive for with every shoot, is what I strive for with the shots I take.

I'm so excited about the opportunity with Bella Baby and will be posting pictures I take as I go. I don't officially start until August 18th so you won't see anything before then. I will still shoot weddings if those opportunities still come... Now, I just have something I can do everyday, something I will love!

I had so much fun shooting Jake and Heather's wedding up in Rockford, Illinois. Unfortunately, since they are from Alaska, we never got to shoot their engagement pictures. My sister Leah, assisted me on this wedding and we had so much fun together. She got so much great stuff and I can't wait for her to shoot with me again!

It was such an honor to be a part of Jake and Heather's wedding day. They are one of those couples that you look at and just know they are perfect for one another. Their families were wonderful also! It just was such a fun wedding to shoot... I truly enjoyed every minute of it! I know right now they are on their month long honeymoon to Sydney, Australia and will be coming home soon. I hope you guys are having an amazing time and enjoying every minute of it!

I had the great pleasure of shooting Katie & Dan's wedding out in Ocean City, NJ. I had so much fun being around them! I shot their engagement pictures earlier this year back in Philly (which I never posted!!!) and found out right away that they are the kind of people who make you feel like you have known them for years which makes my job incredibly easy! Their wedding was at a great location... We had great weather... I really couldn't have asked for more! Thank you guys for letting me be a part of your day and I hope you enjoy the pictures!

updates!

So I have been all over the place lately. I was in Indianapolis for a quick weekend and assisted my fried Shelly Valentine, who is an amazing photographer there. We had so much fun and I can't wait for her to shoot mine! I also just got back from a trip to Ocean City, NJ. I shot a wedding out there and it was fabulous! I can't wait to post the pictures from both of the weddings. It may be a while though...

Some of you know that I'm getting married in a week! I can't believe it's actually here. So that will set me back a few weeks in all of my editing and posting. Although I'm awful at it anyway so most won't notice, but I'm trying to be better at it!

Tomorrow I head off to Indy for my bachelorette party and then to Erie, PA on Saturday for Ryan's graduation... Busy, busy, busy! But for those of you who will be at the wedding, I can't wait to see you, it's going to be a blast!

a long time coming...

I have been so awful lately with my time management and motivation. As if the date of my last posting doesn't communicate that!

Sometimes I feel like so much is going on and I can't even get a grasp on my life... I can't remember the last time I talked to people let alone remember what I last told them. Then, when it comes around to filling people in and actually catching up, I almost have nothing to say. So many little things are happening right now to achieve the BIG things... If I told everyone the little things, I feel like I would never hear myself stop talking. And if you know what I mean at all, you know that sometimes it's exhausting to recap everything over and over.


Right now, I feel like my life is on high speed with moments of complete silence. For instance tonight... I got home from work around 6:00 after I walked up the massive hill, which isn't so massive anymore... Ate some breakfast food for dinner and then watched the movie "The Queen". Which was very fascinating! This whole evening though has been one big night of solitude. I really appreciate those nights sometimes but now I have had too many and I'm just craving people!

I fell asleep on my couch watching a dog show on the Animal Planet... Very fascinating as well that people are so meticulous about the way the dog's hair is cut. That is an art in itself. I wondered if those dogs ever just want to flip out that someone keeps putting there fingers all up in their teeth and yanking them by their tails to pick them up.

Ryan has been up in Indianapolis for the past month finishing his rotations up there. I know he was so excited to get out of Philly and be back in the midwest and get to spend some time with his family! For those of you who haven't heard, we bought a house! We bought a condo in the beavercreek section of Dayton, Ohio and are so excited! I'm actually moving into it this weekend! Tomorrow Ryan flies in and we pack up the truck and head on out!

Philadelphia has been fun... I've always wanted to live in a big city and now I know what it's like. It has its good things and of course it's bad... But all in all, I really wouldn't trade it for the world! I know if I wouldn't have moved here I would always wonder what it would be like to really take that step out and move to where I knew no one and to the 6th largest city at that! Ryan and I have had an amazing time living in the same place for once and we are so excited about starting over yet again in Dayton. BUT, this time, we know it will be our home for 3 years! This will be the longest amount of time Ryan and I have lived in one city since college. We just want to have a home and stability.

I am posting a picture of the outside of our condo. We are SO excited about this and can't wait to have all our friends and family come and stay with us! You are all welcome at any time! The next time I write (who knows how long that will be :) ), I'll be writing from the good ole state of OH-IO! I can't wait to be back in buckeye country again! (Ryan's rolling his eyes right now because he is a Penn State fan)...

I'm off to Indianapolis today! I can't wait to get there! I'm so excited to see friends and my family! It will be a fun filled weekend and kind of crazy trying to get to see everyone. I'm actually making this trip to do a photo shoot. I'm still trying to keep my business semi going up there in case Ryan and I move back come his residency in June. Which is definitely a possibility!

So I apologize ahead of time for the people I won't get to see this time around or for the little time i get to spend with the people I do see! It's never enough time anymore! I miss you all a ton.

I do have some fun news that I haven't written about yet! I'M ENGAGED!!!! It happened in the Bahamas the second day we were there. it was perfect! If you want to read the story I started yet another blog for all the wedding updates. It's:
